Pon de Joy makes its innovative mochi donuts fresh daily and is currently working on baking up a new location at 7 Pleasant Street in Malden, according to the company's Facebook.

Mochi donuts are mixed up from a dough made with rice, tapioca, and wheat flour, making a treat that is light, fluffy, and bouncy.

Varieties of mochi donuts rotate weekly and have included flavors like cinnamon sugar, matcha, and cookies and cream, but also regularly veer into the unexpected. More surprising flavor choices have included flamin' hot Cheeto, cornflakes, and maple bacon.

Customers can stay hydrated while they enjoy their mochi donuts by sipping on boba tea in flavors like black sesame and taro latte.

Pon de Joy also offers catering, promising to handle large and small orders.

The mochi donut brand hopes to open the new Malden location in May, Pon de Joy told Daily Voice.
